History of the Magi

The history of magic has not been a pleasant one. Hounded and butchered wherever they appeared, Mages were forced to hide themselves lest they attract undue attention. In ages past, Mages were locked away in prisons for fear of being possessed by demons, if they were not out right killed.

Finally the Mages decided enough was enough and rose up, settting the world on fire to hide their mass exodus. Mages from all corners of the globe escaped to the Northern wastes, forming small groups. Casting of the mantle of Magi, these groups renamed themselves Cabalists and swore that never again would innocents suffer for being blessed with magic. They even summoned demons to take trophies that augmented their natural talents. The Cabalist of the Modern Era are a reclusive and suspicious people that prefer the "kill first, raise the dead for questioning" method of safety.

A wallpaper that I made to relieve the Enuii. I got the idea from seeing that Magi origin picture in Dragon Age: Origins and a picture of a Cabalist from Hellgate London. I thought they might look cool when blended together. This was the final product. The history was just something I made up to link the two. It combines aspects from DA2 and Hellgate London.
